Saturday @ the Mountain


Before we go:

Check the Web Site Friday evening for up-to-date information regarding Saturday.  Make sure all essential gear is labeled with your name and organized to go.  This includes:

Season Pass or Lift Ticket Money zipped in the pocket of your
        jacket.
Skis or Snowboard tuned, adjusted, and ready to go.
Snowboard Boots or Ski Boots and Poles (make sure they fit    
        before your first day).
Hat, Jacket, Pants, Gloves, and Goggles.
Under layers such as polypropylene underwear and socks,
        turtleneck, fleece or sweater.
Prepare a high-energy lunch for the mountain (you have the
        option of buying food on the mountain) and dinner for the ride
        home.  Please, No glass containers.
Set your alarm to give you plenty of time to make it to the bus
        lot by 5:20 AM.
Get a good night's sleep. You will need your energy for all
        the fun you'll have tomorrow.

  1. Before you hit the slopes: Get all your gear ready and safety checked. Mark all your belongings!
     
  2. The night before: Go through the check list, be ready, set your alarm clock!  Departure Time 5:45 Sharp! Load at or before 5:30
     
  3. Busses 4 through 8 load at CKJH. Busses 1 through 3 at the CK senior lot Bucklin Hill Rd.  Please park considerately as many people will share these drop off and pick up locations.
     
  4. Departure:
    1. Stay clear of buses as they approach.
    2. Check in with chaperone as you board the bus. Problems see Mr.  
    Keller or Mr. Samson.

    3. Load your skis. Ski bags are best, Velcro is OK, Totes are bad.
     
  5. To the Ferry:
    1. We take roll, read the bulletin, set out trash cans, get settled.
    2. Chaperones will go over the rules, regulations, and special announcements.
     
  6. On the Ferries:
    1. Note the ferry rules - public environment, upper deck, don't run...
    2. Go to the RESTROOM before boarding the bus, don't wait to last minute.
     
  7. To the Mountain:
    1. Check for weather at Monroe.
    2. Wait to arrive before you begin dressing.
     
  8. On the Mountain:
    1. Prepare to leave bus for the day - lunch, gear, etc.
    2. Meet by the magic carpet by the Ski School building for lessons. Ski and ride with a  buddy. Watch the time, and don't be late for lessons or bus.
    3. Purchase your lift tickets
    at the Kiosk at the lodge.
  9. Leaving the Mountain:
    1. Listen for instruction from Mr. Keller (3:15 load,3:45 departure for first week - later as season and weather permits)
    2. Chill out down the mountain.
    3. Load the ferry
    4. General Clean-Up
    5. Back home at 7:30. Parents PLEASE BE ON TIME and Park Friendly. The first 10 minutes after our return can be more or less chaotic depending on how everyone cooperates.
