Making Class Selection Based On Skier Ability Levels
These descriptions are good for both skiing and snowboarding students.

Learn to Ski or Ride (Beginner)
Class # 101 First time skier or snowboard rider
Class # 201 Skied or snowboarded just a few times - ridden a chairlift no more than 2 twice

Your snow sports adventure begins here!  If this is your first trip to the mountains, this is the program for you.  Learn the basics of Skiing and Snowboarding, learn about the equipment, how to turn, stop, and control your speed. After learning the basics, your class will rapidly move on to exploring what Stevens Pass has to offer.  Our goal is to help the student progress to a point where beginner terrain is no sweat, and we are actively experimenting on some intermediate terrain.

End-of-Program Goals:

Learn the basic skills of skiing/snowboarding: turning, stopping, speed control
Become comfortable and confident riding all beginner terrain (green runs)
Become comfortable and confident on some intermediate terrain (blue runs)
Build the basic skill set to move into the Intermediate class next season.

Intermediate Ski or Ride
Class # 301 Green terrain skiers and riders that are ready to explore blue terrain

You’ve mastered the basics and are comfortable on all green terrain and even tried out some blue terrain.  Now it is time to step it up and gain skills that give you access to all intermediate terrain that Stevens has to offer.  By the end of the session you will be able to cruise the blues in style.

Class # 401 Blue terrain skiers and riders that are ready to explore black terrain

Take skiing or riding to a new level.  This is for skiers and riders who cruise the blues but are ready to take on new challenges and steeper terrain.  Explore bumps, powder, and work on skills that open up the world of black diamond steeps at Stevens Pass.

End-of-Program Goals:

Expand upon skills learned in the Learn to Ski/Ride program.
Become comfortable riding most intermediate terrain.
Begin exploring advanced and more difficult terrain.
Build the skill set to move into an Advanced Class next season.

Advanced Ski or Ride
Class #501 Skier and riders that are already on black terrain and want to explore the whole mountain

For skiers/riders that want to explore everything that Stevens Pass has to offer while continuing to build a set of all around skills.  Focus on diamond and double diamond terrain, working in the bumps, and varying conditions. Skiers and riders who want to explore the steep and deep will be grouped together for their own unique adventure.

End-of-Program Goals: Gain skills in skiing/riding all terrain and conditions.
Explore a variety of terrain including bumps, steeps, trees, and powder.
Class # 601 For skiers and riders that want to focus on the terrain park and pipe.
