General Information
Central Kitsap Ski School has provided the best ski (and snowboard) instruction and mountain recreation to Central Kitsap students for the past 34 years. It makes little difference if you ski or snowboard, if you are a beginner or an expert, or if you are in 5th grade or 12th, we have an opportunity for you. Snow conditions at Stevens Pass create a phenomenal environment for those who want runs as fast and challenging as any in the Northwest, or more relaxed slopes and trails for beginners.
Parents may ask: Why C.K. Ski School? Good question, as you rationalize a sizable expense to send your kid to the mountains. Your children might make their case for ski school with references to fun and thrills and social opportunities. Admittedly these are legitimate reasons, but there is no mention of relative value and safety. The practical parent wants to know if ski school is worth the money and will their kid be safe. The answer is yes.
The ski school experience is both valuable and safe. Your kids are bussed to and from the mountains by veteran district drivers. The program is exceptionally well organized and chaperoned by C.K. teachers and/or parents. Stevens Pass Ski School (our instruction team) are the pros on the mountain and have successfully worked with students since the resort opened decades ago. This instructional team for both skiing and boarding have the latest in technical and safety training. Stevens Pass has dedicated the lower part of the Pacific Crest Lodge to our program. The kiosk is monitored by CK and/or Stevens personnel and we stay radio-connected the entire day for your child’s added safety. In addition, there are two emergency vans available in the unlikely event your child is sick or hurt. Our ski school averages fewer than 12 injuries per year for our nearly 2600 annual skier visits.
We are safe, organized, effective, and a value in recreation. Mostly we’re fun!
