Q: What equipment do I need?
A: If you are going to Ski you need skis, boots, bindings, and poles.
If you are going to snowboard you need board, boots, bindings, and a leash.
Q: Should I buy or rent gear?
A: If you aren't sure if you are going to like the sport, or you are likely to grow a bit in the next
year, you should probably rent your gear and hold off on purchasing it until next year.
Q: Where can I get good deals on gear?
A: Ski swaps are the best way to get good gear at low prices. Our Ski Swap will be held at CK Junior High on Saturday,
November 20starting at 9 AM. Check the internnet for others - there is a big one in Seattle on November 20 - 22. Costco
often  has great deals on gloves, long underwear, goggles, and helmets.
Q: Where can I buy or rent gear locally?
A: The best place to find ski and snowboard gear in Kitsap County is Kitsap Sports, located by Home Depot.
Q: What kind of clothing do I need?
A: You need a helmet, goggles, and gloves. You also need three layers of clothing: a non-cotton base layer, waterproof pants,
fleece jacket, and a wind/waterproof outer jacket.
Q: How do I keep my gear safe at the mountain?
A: It is very unusual for equipment to be stolen on the mountain. But if you are worried about it you can either buy a light
weight cable lock for it, or purchase the "Gear Check" option for $35 (this provides a secure place to store you skis or
board, but none of your other things). There are also lockers availible in the lodges.
